Venturing Further Afield

Jacket - xhileration | purse - vintage | boots - my old riding boots | socks - ? | belt - vintage

I decided to break free of the quad today, in search of some better backdrops for photos. The Northwest Arm is very near campus, and Phil knew of this tiny park which was completely abandoned and secluded - perfect for photos!

These socks and boots came in my care package from home - along with cookies and Nylon mag. An excellent package. And I love getting mail.

Long Skirt and a Short Jacket

Jacket - Gap Kids | Dress (as a skirt) - Matty M (consignment) | T-shirt - Urban Outfitters | Belt - vintage | Slippers - Target | Ring - via NastyGal | Headband - Ardene's

Today was one of those days where I put on one outfit and changed pieces until I was wearing a totally different outfit. I like playing around with this dress and wearing it as a skirt. I always get compliments which doesn't hurt!

I had a lot of fun at the fair this weekend, seeing chicks hatch and horses pull weights, and giant pumpkins. It was a whirlwind trip but such a breath of fresh air. New Brunswick smells so good!

Night Out

This looks like such a fun night -
the girls at I LOVE WILDFOX
getting together with friends for Fashion Night Out LA.
Makes me want to dress up and go out!

Have a good weekend - going out or staying in.
I'll be in NB for a fair until Sunday night.
Pictures to follow,
naturally.

Out The Door

It's a gorgeous day, but I'm already late for class. Here's a tidbit on my way out the door...

Fall Air

Dress - H&M | Jacket - Gap Kids | Scarf - bought on a trip to France | Booties - Aldo | Bag/belt/earrings - vintage

It's definitely getting crisp in Halifax! Today was my first day of the season in tights. I was sad to cover up against the crisp air, but as soon as I put them on I remembered how great tights are. Instant bruise-cover! And I feel cozier.

I also broke out my new H&M shirtdress (impulse buy win). It was previously on here as a cardigan (here).

I'm pulling out the woolies now, so you'll see them soon, and even my new fall coat! (I showed it to my friend Sarah, and she loved it, so I can say reviews have been favourable).

Fall Knit

Sweater - H&M | Shorts - H&M | Boots - vintage | Bag - vintage Roots | Necklace - made by me!

I am so tired from Frosh Week but the last event was today - Beach Day! I ran around and lay in the sun and now I have to summon the last of my energy for the week-closing party. It's going to be hard.

I still haven't gotten any bolder with photo taking, so my boyfriend and I went on a walk and stopped by a building when we didn't see many people around. When people did walk by I felt verrry awkward - even though I got tons of compliments on this outfit when I wore it. This sweater is new, an impulse buy from a quick trip to H&M and I'm looking forward to wearing it all fall. Do you have new pieces you know will be instant favourites?

A Real Fashion Blogger?

Dress is consignment (Matty M on the tag); shoes are Steve Madden, jacket is Gap Kids (so shrunken!), the bag is vintage. Earrings from my boyfriend, purchased in Jerusalem
+Rocking my CBC pin!

Wow, is it ever fun to be back, but strange to hear so much about my blog from people! When I was in Ottawa, I mostly talked about it, but here people mention it to me all the time. I seem to have gotten a reputation for style... a good reputation, I hope! I get asked about styling advice now often, and one of the residence dons and I are going to plan a vintage clothing store tour of Halifax to do with res students! So much fun. (Also, if you have recommendations for awesome vintage/consignment on the peninsula, downtown preferred, let me know...)

This grey dress I'm wearing I bought here in Halifax when I was just visiting, trying out King's in grade 12. It's consignment (I love you, Elsie's). It also has two layers, so it's thick enough to skim over all my bulges, but a little warm at times... I had to hold it up while I was standing in the chapel so I wouldn't sweat. When I'm walking around, I bunch it up in one hand and hold it, so it hangs and I feel very ladylike. Long dresses can be tricky to wear and not look formal, but I think I pulled off this daytime look! I certainly got compliments (thank you to all!).

Shoes

Holy shoes collection. I would love to have any and all of these. As I told my boyfriend, "Her shoes are so pretty! Mine look shitty." I think I need to go shoe shopping...

Gym Shorts

shirt from H&M; AA bandeau; necklace from Pyrrha

Well, has frosh week ever been busy! But it has been fun to catch up with friends I haven't seen all summer. Some of them have even mentioned that they read this blog! I love hearing that.

Though the weather has turned quite cool in Halifax, I have a couple outfits left over from last week when it was blisteringly hot and humid. Hurricane Earl came through and dealt with that for us (and soaked everyone on frosh move-in day). These photos are from a day I was feeling too shy to shoot outside, and too warm to wear anything beside gym shorts. I tried to make them look cute...

Hopefully I'll get up my nerve some day soon and show you my fantastic new plaid skirt and more.

Now in Halifax

shirt: consignment - shorts: Fossl jeans, cut off by me - scarf: vintage - ring: from NastyGal - shoes: Steve Madden

Well, here are my first tries at working with a tripod. It was a little awkward and strange, because I knew people were around on the quad of my school, so I tried to pick a slow time and stuck close to one corner! I'm sure I'll come up with some sort of method as the year goes on.

It's very hot here (30 degrees Celsius and up!), so my hair is always up and shorts with flowy shirts are the way to go!

PS: Do you like my new hair colour?
