On Saturday, my extremely stylish little sister and I went to check out a vintage store called Gypsy and Co in downtown Ottawa. She looked so cute I snapped a few pics of her!

PS: I made us matching sister friendship bracelets. I'm pretty much the best sister.

Happy Weekend

These are some pictures from my camping trip in May. It was so early in the season that we basically had the park to ourselves! I brought a couple of disposable cameras (canoe camping... dangerous for fancy cameras!) and I love love how they turned out.

I'm looking forward to a cozy weekend in from the rain!

Midi-mad

I am all over skirts now that the weather is really getting warm. This skirt I picked up at the Value Village and had it shortened to the perfect midi skirt length. I like the high-waist that I can wear with the shorter tops I'm quickly becoming obsessed with. This one is from Topshop (thanks mom!).

This is my first most successful hair-curling experience to date. Living at home with my long-haired sister and mom has meant I've had access to their hair tools. I think I'll add curling iron to my wish-for list!

After weeks of stress, packing, living out of a suitcase, and then a few days wandering in the woods (more on that later), I finally feel like pulling together cute outfits. And shopping... there's been a lot of that lately.

I bought this shirt on sale this weekend at Urban Outfitters -- I predict it will be my go-to top this summer. Even though it's black!

Ready for Some Summer

Sorry for the absence -- Easter weekend is always busy and then, well, there was food poisoning. Not pretty. The great ham debacle of Resurrection Party 2011.

I am more than ready for jean shorts. Looking at Coachella "street" style has whet my appetite. I bought three new pairs (one I made myself from old Levi's... they might be too short, I don't know). I am officially On A Mission For The Perfect Pair. I'm kind of built like a rectangle, so the mini shorts built for curves with little stretch? Not working for me.

Holy rain and cold, Halifax. What's with this weather? Could we have some heat please? Or ever sun? Grumble.

I went to do some shopping since... well, I'm done school and I can! And then I worked at the desk and was bored so I took pictures of what I bought.

This necklace my mom gave me for Christmas. I believe she bought it while on a trip to England. I haven't really worn it much because I thought the chains she put it on were too long and I needed to swap them... but this week I've worn it every day. It's so beautiful! The middle stone is deep red, which is hard to tell from the pictures.

So I bought a new SD card! Hurray. It is my "summer resolution" to carry my camera around with me as much as possible, so I bought a bigger card. It is 4X bigger than my last one! Which would be more exciting if my last card weren't 2GB. Ahem. An upgrade was necessary.

Blog Crush: O My Heart

I am a big fan of Kate's blog, O-My-Heart. She's been looking particularly fine lately with her new camera and she's been taking some sweet risks with bright colours. Gorgeous.

Sorry there are still no photos for this week! I've been wearing cute things, but I've been having some technical difficulties (may have dropped my SD card in water) so I can't take any photos. So frustrating! I will get back to it soon... especially now that my exams are done! Woo!

I wrote my last exam last night, I have a take-home exam today and then I launch into a hellish weekend of research paper-ing... but then I'm all done. My first issue as co-editor of The Watch has been sent to the printer, and I've been working hard! Hard enough for a reward?

Take Me by the Hand

My little sister bought this jacket at Value Village and quickly decided she didn't want it -- so she gave it to me! I love it, I wear it all the time.

This bag was an impulse buy at a Tegan and Sarah concert last year, and I love it. It's the perfect size for carrying everything I need, and it slides easily over my shoulder. I pretty much take it anywhere and everywhere*.

Well, folks, it's down to my hell week. I'm not sure how much you'll hear from me this week, what with trying to pull together my first issue of this, and an academic journal, and my papers and exams! I'm tired just thinking about it.

*Tegan and Sarah fans! That's two references to the same song in one post. Impressed?
